_Latif Yahia, who bore a remarkable resemblance to Saddam Hussein's oldest son, Uday, was pulled out of the front lines during the Iran-Iraq war and transformed into an exact likeness of Uday. From that vantage point he was privy to all the machinations and horrific excesses perpetrated on the Iraq people by the family and the government of Saddam Hussein.

I thought that Latif gave a very heartfelt interview. It's tragic that the "West" is so brainwashed & blinkered about Iraq. As Latif said, it does not suit their agenda. It is well known that the USA has a "Dirty tricks department". Latif's situation should be addressed, he should have justice, unfortunately it seems that the UK & Ireland cannot stand up to the USA.I lived in Baghdad for 31 years & was married to an Iraqi.Life for a Westerner was difficult, my children were stigmatised at school as they had a "foreign mother".Iraq was a police state under Saddam, I could not leave the country with my childre feely. There were always fearsome rumours about Saddam and his sons, especially Oday. Mothers lived in fear of letting their daughters out at weekends incase Oday or his henchmen spotted a pretty girl to amuse Oday.Once the girl was "spoiled" she had no chance of marriage. It was well known that Oday was a psychopath, no one had any respect for Saddam & his offspring, only fear. Initially when Saddam came to power he did a lot for the country & improved the infrastructure. Unfortunately he became a meglomaniac and a despot.Living in freedom in the West again has certainly given me appreciation of what we have, even if people are going out on strike.

Always continue to speak your mind Mr. Yahia..Keeping anger bottled up is far more dangerous than letting it out..Free speech was made for truthful people like you.

In Germany we have a tradition that we never blow out a kandel because a sailor will die, I know that Latif Yahia the author is not a sailor but he is someone that we should keep a kandel burning for, I believe he is one of the very few who speak the truth about the serious wrongs in this world and so called democratik. His on-going fight with the CIA and the imprisonment in Austria are just a few reasons why we should listen to him and watch out for him. He is just one person against the machine of propaganda, I for one hope he wins.
